Domain Wintergardens

The Domain Wintergardens is a complex of gardens located within the Auckland Domain.

The Wintergardens consists of two large glasshouses: one non-heated Temperate House and one Tropical House (heated to an average of 28°C).
In between the two glasshouses there is an ornate courtyard with several neoclassical statues and a sunken pond in the centre.

Off to one side is the Fernery which is situated within the site of an old quarry.

The winter garden is a great place to go - even if it a winter rainy day.

Novak Djokovic is a Serbian professional tennis player who is currently ranked world No. 1 in men's singles tennis.

Novak Djokovic is considered to be one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

Roger Federer is a Swiss professional tennis player who is currently ranked world no. 2.

Many commentators, tennis fans and players regard Federer as the greatest tennis player of all time…

Novak Djokovic was crowned Wimbledon champion for the third time after beating Roger Federer in a crushing final.
In what was almost a repeat of last year's final, the World No 1 won the match and his ninth grand slam title. Although he loses the second set to his competitor Roger Federer.

In the second set the Swiss player was hoping for his eighth Wimbledon title - had triumphed following a lengthy tie break, winning 12 points to Djokovic's 10.

But Djokovic's form was too much for Federer and he went on to win the final set 6-3 after his first championship point, matching coach Boris Becker's impressive Wimbledon record.

Djokovic won 7-6, 6-7, 6-4 and 6-3 and earned £1.88 million for his victory. Federer got £940,000 as runner-up.

Novak Djokovic wins 7-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 to claim his third Wimbledon title.

In a match split between dry and rain-threatened, the world’s best player wore down the world’s favourite player.
Just watch and enjoy this very intriguing match between two world’s best tennis players.

At the very start of the match Federer won the first five points. After his uncertain start Djokovic got into his serve a couple of times but Federer was in a different zone – not for the first time in the tournament – and held to love again for 3-2 after a quarter of an hour.
Federer had the advantage of scoreboard pressure, in the sixth game he won with big advantage showing a superb control of his racket and space.

In the second set it was Federer doing the better performance. Having saved one set point at 4-5, he faced a remarkable six more in a classic tiebreak.

For most players losing a set in such circumstances would be incredibly difficult to recover from. But not Djokovic. As he continued his pressure, Federer could not maintain with it. And, already a break down in the third set, a rain delay of around 20 minutes perhaps took even more of the zip out of Federer’s play.

Finally Novak Djokovic wins 7-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.

After the match:
“I’m 28,” Djokovic said. “I feel good. I don’t feel old. I have hopefully many more years in front of me. I’m going to try to push my own limits and see how far I can go really with titles and with myself playing on this high level.”
