Australia opportunities for Asia’s infra-structure.

This article copied from original source at gloinfra.com (http://www.gloinfra.com, http://www.gloinfra.com/news1/)

Three countries with the biggest infrastructure needs in Asia: China, India, and Japan.

These economies will require nearly 40 per cent of the world’s total infrastructure investment through to 2030. And given that Australia has either signed – or is negotiating – trade and investment pacts with these three powerhouses, Australian firms are well placed to capitalise on this infrastructure investments.

Though, it’s not just in Asia where the demand for infrastructure investment will be massive. The globally spending will need to reach US$94 trillion between now and 2040 to keep pace with economic changes and population growth.

One of the biggest challenges remains in trying to improve the quality of life in so many developing nations. On this point alone, a further US$3.5 trillion is required by 2030 just to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals of universal access to water, sanitation, and electricity.

That combined US$97 trillion is an astonishing number. But looking at the global picture, this investment challenge should be achievable, requiring infrastructure spending to increase from current levels of 3% to 3.7% of GDP.

For Australia, the spending forecasts well above advanced economies at around 3.6% of GDP. However, it is forecast this will need to ramp up to 4%, a rate of investment more commonly associated with developing countries. By contrast, Europe is forecast to need to invest just 2.6% of its GDP. Fortunately, Australia’s high investment need is partly a result of stronger than average economic growth which Outlook forecasts will average 2.5% real growth compared with 1.7% for developed economies until 2040. While the investment picture overall is positive it will be a major practical challenge to deliver the transport projects needed for a surging population.

Forecast
Over the 25 year period of the study, Australia’s population of 24 million is forecast to grow at 1.4% per year, the fastest rate of any OECD country, reaching 34 million by 2040. Melbourne and Sydney could well be the fastest changing cities in the developed world. According to our analysis, Australia is among the top ten largest infrastructure markets despite being only the 14th largest economy.
Forecast shows Asia’s population growing from 4.4 billion in 2014 to 5.1 billion by 2040. Up to 56% of the world population will live in Asia by 2040.

Asia will dominate global infrastructure needs, accounting for more than 50% of the world total. By comparison the economic powerhouses of North and South Americas have an investment need of 22% of the global total.
Australia is well placed to play a much more significant role in financing and delivering the region’s infrastructure needs. The massive demand for infrastructure across Asia offers vast and varied opportunities for Australian infrastructure investors, bankers, construction companies, consultants, and equity fund managers.

South-East Asia is forecast to be one of the fastest growing markets with significant unmet infrastructure needs. For the SE Asian countries included in the study, Outlook estimates an investment need of US$4.2 trillion to 2040, increasing to US$4.4 trillion if SDGs are to be met by 2030. Many of these economies will have viable projects but will need significantly larger infrastructure markets to plan, deliver, and construct these pipeline of projects.

Indonesia alone will need to invest US$1.7 trillion until 2040 with huge demand in electricity, roads, and water, requiring an almost doubling of investment to support an increasingly affluent population and as the rural to urban shift gathers pace. Currently 54% of the population live in cities and urban communities, with this forecast to surge to 88% by 2040.
Outlook also tells us that the massive infrastructure need across Asia will be unmet in some countries, with a gap in what needs to be spent and what is forecast based on current trends.

Myanmar and Cambodia, for example, are forecast to fall a long way short of meeting the electricity and water SDGs by 2030. Addressing this gap could would deliver huge gains for health and wellbeing, as well as stronger economic growth.

The evolution of Asia over the next 20 years will be truly remarkable, transformative, and challenging. There is no doubt as well that Australia is well-placed to capitalise on the “Asian Century” and this remarkable process of change.

Cute animals.

Those cuties will make you smile…

Fennec Desert Fox

Fennec fox are so adorable!
Fennec foxes are desert animals of The Sahara in North Africa. They been in existence for thousands of years, so they're more than resourceful in harsh environments. They're very social and sometimes they're interbreed with domesticated dogs.

Tapir.

Tapir – such a cute spotted creature. The tapir's natural home is in the jungles of South America, Central America, and Southeast Asia.
They're good swimmers and the water is their favorite place to be. Their diet consists of plant-life in and around rivers. They have a shy nature, but have been known to be violent and defensive when nursing babies.

Sand Cat

The Sand Cat (Felis Margarita) is a little- known species of desert cats. They live in the harshest deserts of Africa and Asia. They're comfortable in environments other wildcats cannot handle, like the Sahara and Arabian deserts as well as those of Iran and Pakistan
Sand cats look a like domestic cats, but they're larger and thicker, especially around the head. Their ears are wider apart which flattens out when crouching down for the hunt. Fur lines their under-paws and between the toes to protect against the scorching sand.

The most interesting fact is this cat can go for months without drinking water! Oddly, as a wildcat they're not afraid of humans.
Don't be fooled by their cute appearance – they are simply fearless.

Porcupine
It's so adorable, we can barely hold back the urge to touch! Caution, this prickly baby is equipped to defend. When babies are born their quills are soft but within an hour they harden like needles.

If you're hiking in a forest (Americas, Southern Asia, and Africa), know they like to be near trees. Although they're peaceful critters, if shocked or cornered they can pose a painful threat.

Peacock

Peacocks must be spoiled! They're lovely as babies (known as pea chicks) and they're breath-taking as adults, especially the males, sporting colorful courtship plumage! Another name for Peacocks is Peafowl, they're a part of the pheasant family stemming from Asia and Africa.

Bush Baby

Galagos aka bushbabies, bush babies, or nagapies.
Such a cute character - just take a look at the size of those eyes! The Bush Baby is a Prosimian Primate and in the same family as the Lemur.

They are native to Africa and Asia, not Madagascar where their cousin the Lemur lives. Also the Lemur's diet consists mainly of vegetation, and Bush Babies rely much more on animal protein for their diet. This hunter is nocturnal and is stealthy at catching snakes, rodents, insects and birds.

It's said that they are nocturnal due to competition with other advanced primates who share the same diet.

Dolphin Calf

Dolphins are marine mammals related to whales and porpoises. They're one of the most intelligent animals around, not to mention their friendly and playful personalities!

Golden Brushtail Possum

Tasmania has some of the rarest animals and the Golden Brushtail Possum is one. Their fair-colored fur and pink tinge around dark eyes are due to the low melanin in their skin.

Unfortunately what makes them so special, also makes them an easy target for predators to see. Their fluffy coloring prevents them from hiding in foliage, therefore they're only found in small areas that contain fewer wild predators. Like all possums, the Golden Brushtail is traditionally nocturnal. It forages mainly for vegetation like eucalyptus leaves, but also includes in its diet small mammals like rats.

Lemur

Living in Madagascar , highly social creatures, ring-tailed lemurs live in groups averaging 17 members. Their society is female-dominant, and a group will often contain multiple breeding females. Females reproduce starting at 3 years of age, generally giving birth to one baby a year.

Dress to Impress: Rio Olympics the teams’ uniforms.

What the leading athletes in Rio will be wearing? Look at the photos to see how leading designers have combined fashion and national pride in the teams’ uniforms.

Brazil

The uniforms pattern mimics tropical birds in flight and lush fronds, a clear reference to one of the country’s greatest assets – its rainforests. Topped with boater hats, lace-up shoes and relaxed chinos for men, this is a uniform designed to have fun in.

Medical Services will wear Red during the Games to be easily spotted.
Technical Officials (Referees) will wear Blue.
The colour worn by most of the Games' teams (the operational areas) will be yellow.
If you need any information at the Games just look for the Green uniforms!

Canada

Designers from Dsquared2 styled the team’s uniforms.
The uniform features: unisex fishtail shirts, worn over sweatpants-¬cut trousers, with double-¬pocket jackets and the trademark Dsquared2 tailoring.

Cuba

The uniform designed by Christian Louboutin and Henri Tai, the former professional volleyball player, the Cuban team will be resplendent in jaunty red blazers, teamed with red high-top trainers.

Italy

Designed by famous Emporio Armani, the diffusion line of Giorgio Armani.
The EA7 Olympic collection is sleek and athletic, with a discreet embroidered Italian flag and the words Olympic Team on the chest.

USA

The uniform made of polo tops, white shirts and crisp trousers with addition of a flag-coloured belt. Designed by Ralph Lauren who is an American clothing designer best known for his sportswear line Polo Ralph Lauren, the centrepiece of his fashion empire.

South Korea

South Korean uniform has mosquito-repellent chemicals woven into the fabric to help guard against the Zika virus. This is the only designers attribute within the uniform. Everything else is pretty standard.

France

The French uniform was created by Lacoste, who opted for a laid-back look of ponchos and trench coats to help ward off any possible downpours. The French colours are discreetly hidden on the embroidered crocodile.

Great Britain

The uniform has been designed by Stella McCartney. It featured the Union Flag, opting instead for a specially designed coat of arms, which she has splashed heavily over everything.

Sweden

The Swedish team will be wearing uniform created by H&M. Faced with the tricky colour combination of yellow and blue, they have tried to soften the Sesame Street feel of the palette with a more flattering golden yellow over the traditional acidic tone.
The design looks really sporty, with graphic go-faster chevrons of colour, and a sweater proudly announcing Sweden’s medal tally to date - 696.
