The original Europa and its variants comprise the Lotus Types 46, 47, 54, 65 and 74, and were produced between 1966 and 1975. The early 1960s was a very successful time for the Lotus. They created a line of mid-engine Formula 1 cars that won two World Championships. Later, they began producing a mid-engine road-going car introduced in 1966, named the Type 46. The Lotus Europa was built from 1966 through 1975 and was one of the first vehicles to use a mid-engine rear-wheel drive layout. In 1973, Lotus introduced the Europa TC Special. It was given an Austin five-speed manual gearbox and a Lotus Big Valve engine that produced 126 horsepower.
Land Rover
The Land Rover series I, II, and III are off-road vehicles produced by the British manufacturer Rover Company. The Land Rover was the first mass-produced civilian four-wheel drive car with doors on it. Rover’s management had hoped against hope that they might be able to sell around 5,000 Land Rovers in the first full year of production. They actually built and sold around 8,000 and the orders just kept on coming in. The Land Rover was purchased by British and overseas farmers and mining companies, as expected, and also by military, police, and rescue services.
