Aucklanders came to Auckland Domain to Celebrate Chinese New Year at the 2016 Auckland Lantern Festival.

The Festival started Thursday 18 and finished Sunday 21 February. The festival moved to a new venue this year – the Auckland Domain. Auckland Domain itself is great place to relax, but now it has absolutely miraculous look with a flavour of Chinese culture.
Over the course of the festival, the organisers expect more than 200,000 people to come and enjoy the best of traditional and contemporary Chinese culture. Which include roaming and main-stage performers from New Zealand and China, martial arts displays, arts and craft stalls, food stalls showcasing delicious, authentic Chinese cuisine. And at the final - great fireworks!

Preparations for the Festival took about nine months. So what you will see there:

• The spectacular illumination of over 800 handmade Chinese lanterns
• Camels, polar bears and dinosaurs were lit up in lantern form - as well as traditional Chinese symbols, flowers and people.
• A street full of stalls selling delicious Asian delicacies and crafts
• Lantern making demonstrations
• Stunning on-stage performances of traditional and contemporary Chinese culture including martial arts, dance and live music from international performers

Come and enjoy New Zealand’s largest Chinese festival. All those 800 handmade Chinese lanterns illuminate celebration of Chinese New Year and welcome the Year of the Monkey.

The Auckland War Memorial Museum is one of New Zealand's most important museums and war memorials. Its collections focus on New Zealand history, natural history, as well as military history.

It is one of the iconic New Zealand constrictions like Sky Tower, Harbour Bridge, Beehive (complex houses of NZ Parliament), etc.
The building is considered as one of the finest Greco-Roman buildings in the Southern Hemisphere. It has an 'A' classification from the New Zealand Historic Places Trust, designating it as a building whose preservation is of the utmost importance.

The museum is sitting on a grassed remains of a dormant volcano in the Auckland Domain.

Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon named the best goalkeeper in football history ever. He took the first place in the survey organized by the magazine France Football. In the survey participated 24 548 voters.

Buffon scored 44% of the total number of votes. Second place got former goalkeeper of France, Fabien Barthez (17%) and the third place shared between Lev Yashin (USSR, which is the only goalkeeper-owner of "Golden Ball") and Oliver Kahn (Germany) - both scored 7% of the vote.

Buffon is the most capped player in the history of the Italian national team with 154 caps. He is widely considered by players, pundits and managers to be one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, and, by some, to be the greatest ever. Buffon is known for his "outstanding shot-stopping" and for being "a vocal organizer of the defence and a key dressing room personality." He is currently the most expensive goalkeeper in history. Buffon also holds the record for the most clean sheets in Serie A and with the Italian national team.

Fabien Alain Barthez is a French former footballer who won honours as a goalkeeper with Marseille, Manchester United and the French national team, with whom he won the 1998 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2000 and reached the final of the 2006 World Cup. He shares the record for the most World Cup finals clean sheets with Peter Shilton, with 10. In club football he won the Champions League as well as several Ligue 1 and Premier League titles.

Barthez began a career in motorsport in 2008 after retiring from football a year earlier. In 2013 Fabien Barthez has won France's GT motorsport series in his 42 years old.

"I wanted to understand what it felt like being in a car. I had to wait until the end of my pro career to try it.
"That said, it’s not like football: you can still be good even when you are 35, which was my age when I stopped playing."
