Tonight started Walking Stars, which is New Zealand’s first night-time walking half marathon. A fabulous 21k walk at night brought people from across NZ together to Auckland’s central district.
The 21.1km walk begins after sun down at Auckland Domain. Then walk continues past some of Auckland’s finest places.
People participating in event are raising funds for the Cancer Society of New Zealand and Look Good Feel Better.
Walking Stars is a half marathon achievable literally by everyone! Participants have options to power walk, stride or stroll, but no running!
People wear bright colours, glow in the dark items, reflective tape, face paint…!
On our photos people coming at the upper part of Queen street, just on intersection with Karangahape Road. Photos taken approximately at 9.40 pm.
