Auckland Viaduct now became Race Village for the Stopover. The Viaduct Events Centre acting as Race headquarter.
The Volvo Ocean Race Experience Zone offers unique interactive emerge into life on-board during the Race.
Currently all the Volvo Ocean 65 boats moored in front of the Viaduct Events Centre.
So visitors to the Race Village can see the most advanced race boats in the world.
The Volvo Ocean Race village offers great entertainment for all ages! So what happens there:
Te Wero Island will host events on the big stage from 9am to 9pm every day with large screens and live music.
The Viaduct Events Centre now hosts the Boatyard, Race Management and the Media Centre. Volvo Ocean 65’s (VO65) fleet moored right on the side of the Viaduct Events Centre. Look at our photos to see the every detail of those superboats.
The crew members currently working hard preparing the boats for the Leg 5: round Cape Horn to Itajai, Brazil.

Activities in the Race Village are free. The Race Village open hours are:
Monday to Wednesday: 10.00 am - 9.00 pm
Thursday to Saturday: 9.00 am - 10.30 pm
Sunday: 9.00 am - 9.00 pm

• Kids Schools Programme (years 1-8) from March 2-6.
• High Performance Yacht Design Conference (HPYD5) will be hosted in the Village from March 8-11.
• Volvo Academy will be hosted from February 28 - March 1.
• One Tonne Revisited Regatta will be hosted in the Village from March 2-8.
• The Classic Yacht Regatta will be based in the Village from February 27-28.

• March 13 Heineken pro-am races
• March 14 New Zealand Herald in-port race. The one-hour race is short and full of actions! It provides sailing fans with a great show. The teams there gain important points for the In-Port Race series. The course for the In-Port Racing is always as close as possible to land and spectaculars. The Pro-Am Races and an In- Port Race to occur in the Waitemata Harbour. This is a unique chance to watch the world’s fastest monohulls in full race mode!
• March 15 Start of leg 5 to Itajai (Brazil). The start will be emotional. The sailors begin the next long leg in Ocean. The fleet starts with an inshore course before heading offshore.
And Aucklanders will wait for the next Race – in 2018.
